They say that the problem with Ukrainians is their indifference. And it's hard to disagree with that. Alas ...

However, among our fellow Ukrainians are those who do not remain untouched by the problems of others. The SMS Club, in conjunction with the orphans' foundation "Heart to Heart", dedicated their most recent theme night to the topic of good works.

The rally is taking place from March 17 to 24 of 2013. The participants are former orphans and their parents.More than 80 motivational events are planned for their participation. Seven teams will start their trips from all over Ukraine and end at the Central Baptist Church in Dnipropetrovsk, where the participants and supporters of the eventwill meet. Everyone who wants to will be able to join the concluding worship service through an online broadcast.

Since ancient times the custom of the Slavic peoples has been to place the cross on the dome of the church to crown the whole structure, completing its form and pointing the whole construction toward the heavens. For a long time now residents of the Levada neighborhood have been wrestling with the question of the purpose of the building with the mysterious name "CMC" at Prospect Mir 24.

There may be no other topic as interesting to young people as relationships with the opposite sex. The lack of empty seats at the SMS club theme night on this topic is evidence enough. I don't think that anyone went away disappointed or bored.

Recently we hosted another large group of people in our church building and the Christian Center. Approximately 600 Poltavans came each day to study English, thanks to the hard work of the teachers from "Michael Gott International". For the second time God gave our church this chance to share the love of Jesus Christ with new people. But were we ready to take advantage of it?

Starting in 2006, the women of Salvation Church began to visit the children in orphanages. Now the ministry has started to pick up speed; a few young men and women among the youth of the church have joined. They believe that Christians are called to manifest God's love to orphans. But working with so many children requires not only love and a desire to help, but skills and understanding of the specifics of working children in orphanages.

Continuing our missionary work in the village of Zavorsklo, we held a Family Festival for local couples. Only a few people came, but in rural areas any event like that is a rarity. So with full confidence we can say that this is the start of something big that we are sure that the Lord will bless!

 

I'm not sure that the evening of board games will become common practice, but for the second year in a row in January, the SMS club kept the tradition. The consensus, in case you're wondering, was "hurray!"
