These were the opening words of the 2nd semester of children's sunday school after the Christmas break at Salvation Church! On January 27 the students and teachers together began the fascinating journey with Moses on the road to the promised land! For a short time we were the nation of Israel, going through the same trials and temptations that they faced! There was the desert, and Mount Sinai, and scouting the promised land, and even "manna" in the form of popcorn ... to still the hunger of the people striving for freedom!
We were also helped on our way by the "ancient" video of the journey of Moses, addressed to posterity, that is, to us! With this priceless recording we were able to compare our pilgrimage to the original, and this, in turn, helped us to identify our mistakes and see the consequences of the bad choices of the Israelites. The lessons we learned in our walk with God to the promised land helped us think about the paths we take in our personal lives, starting from the moment of our conversion and ending when we come face-to-face with the Lord and give account to Him. We were also able to see the kinds of deserts we face and which giants are trying to keep us from entering into God's promised land! We wish the Sunday Schoolers (and everyone else, too) a good trip!
