"The House Doesn't Lose" |
I'm not sure that the evening of board games will become common practice, but for the second year in a row in January, the SMS club kept the tradition. The consensus, in case you're wondering, was "hurray!"  This time the event was attended by over 60 people, including the organizers. We are beginning to feel the lack of dedicated Christians who are willing to just come out and meet new people. Indeed, the strategy of SMS club is to first build relationships, and then share the gospel. By this I mean personally, with the intention of presenting people with the choice. The Gospel is proclaimed from the stage every time. That is the message of SMS club, as the M in the name suggests. This time Radislav Tsurkan brought the message. Continuing the theme of table games, he started with the statement "the house doesn't lose." Gaming establishments plan carefully so that people leave the building with less money than they came with. A player never goes to the casino to lose. No, everyone goes there to win! Herein lies a significant truth about how our ideas of how things should be, and how things really are diverge from the very beginning. The world tries to impose its values, promising "a mountain of gold." In fact, it turns out to be just a mirage. True freedom, peace and happiness can only be found in following Christ.
