Amazing Discovery |
That super-smart man Einstein once said that life can be lived in two ways: either by arguing that miracles don't happen, or by living as if everything in the world is a miracle. I think that Christians need to look at everything that surrounds them, and understand that God performed a miracle and continues it every day. Â The children's camp we called "Amazing Discovery", which was held in the Christian Ministry Center from July 30 to August 4, was a great and undeniable miracle from God. To begin with, on the first day of camp we had about 20 children, most of whom were from believing families, but after persistent prayer by the team on the second day the doors opened to about thirty children, more than half of of whom heard of Christ for the first time. Oh, the things our good old Christian Center saw during those five days - noisy, fun athletic games, interesting and original crafts, fun songs with positive and happy themes, and even experiments which, fortunately, did not endanger anyone's life. But there was a serious message in all of this. For instance, when the "Master of Words" entered the room he made some interesting discoveries with the children. It turned out that the Bible is undeniable truth and that God really exists, that He sent His Son to the earth, and furthermore (which is interesting and unusual to hear in camps like this) that Christ will return to earth and take the faithful to heaven. Small groups of children (5 per group) started interesting "experimental" conversations on the topic and discussed important issues that they can not always ask their parents about. On the last day of the camp at the end of the day the parents and members of our church joined the children. It was a real trial for the leaders, who were ready for a rest: there was a real downpour, the electricity went on and off and the equipment refused to work. But even natural disasters and emergencies could not stop the meeting. Parents thanked the leaders that the children had the opportunity to learn about God, that they heard the Good News. Children were given gifts and blessed on their way home. Lyudmila Rubtsova |
