Thinking back on my excitement at summer vacations, I can understand what today's kids are feeling. The awakening of nature after winter makes it hard to concentrate on lessons, the pages you read don't leave the slightest trace in your memory, and all your thoughts turn to running out onto the street and playing with your friends!

 

So we on in the camp ministry rode the vacation wave and went out to play with the kids in Zavorsklo - from July 2 to July 6. Play and make friends. We made friends especially so that the children would listen and learn about our Creator, of His love for us, about sin and the way to salvation.
We were all surprised at the openness of our young audience! We saw particularly that the children weren't too distracted to pay attention. They always were happy to see us and were reluctant to leave at the end of the day.
Our team was combined from multiple churches. The evangelistic effort "More Valuable Than a Trophy" motivated the churches to join forces, which gave us the chance to get acquainted with one another, exchange experiences and become friends. The Rowland family from Mississippi, USA made a special contribution to the program. They were especially active participants in the activities with the children, which added particular interest to the otherwise routine life in the village and made them special favorites of the kids.

On the last day of the camp the parents were invited, which gave us the opportunity to get aquainted and to share the Gospel with them. It wasn't just an afterthought that we invited the parents, since we are planning to hold children's clubs and start adult small groups in Zavorsklo.
Gifts for the children were made possible by support from the Grain of Wheat International fund and the donations of believers. This helped reinforce the message of the material about God's love.
Praise God for this camp! Please pray for the residents of Zavorsklo, that the seeds we sowed won't die out, but give an abundant harvest!
