God Gave Me Life |
In advance of Mothers' Day, May 13, the youth of the SMS Club launched a public discussion of a topic that is current and painful for our society: abortion. It appears that the participants in the demonstration titled "God Gave Me Life" really succeeded in getting the point across to the residents of our city. In a fairly unusual, pointed and symbolic way they showed watching Poltavans the unjust relationship of parents to their unborn children. Each participant held a helium balloon with the possible name and potential profession of an aborted child. In releasing the balloons into the air they symbolized the unrealizable dreams of a child who died before having the chance to be born. Some of the audience fought back tears as they realized the extent of the crime against their own descendants. Many in the audience were impressed by the performance of the young musicians of our church. At the conclusion of the musical program one young fellow gave a beautiful red rose to each of the girls who sang.
We hope that demonstrations and prayers of this type will influence the demographic situation in our country and preserve it from moral degradation. |
