At the end of the summer, August 24-26 in Melitopol the international floorball tournament SKALA SUMMER CUP 2012 was held. Our team, the Poltava «Biters», was there. We were able to prove ourselves worthy of the honor and demonstrated a high level of preparation.

The «Biters» beat the "Rosbank Sharks" of St. Petersburg with a score of 8-4, as well as the newly formed Kharkov team "First Capital" with a score of 5-3. After that came the game with our familiar opponent "The Rock" - the reigning champion of Ukraine. In this struggle, of course, was decided by experience, and we lost by a score of 1-7. Finishing second in the group, we went on to the quarter finals, where we again met our old friends - the Donetsk «Sharks». Earlier in the year, in the Ukrainian Championship, our team beat the "sharks", but this time it was different: at the end of two 20 minute rounds the score was 5-5. We went into overtime until the Donetsk «Sharks» managed to score in their final decisive goal. The game ended with the score 5-6 and that was where the SKALA SUMMER CUP 2012 international tournament ended for the «Biters».

The championship went to "Arena" of St. Petersburg, who beat the reigning Ukrainian Champions with a score of 7-0.
Unfortunately during the last game the referees were not experienced arbitrators, but ordinary players from other teams. Their bias was also evident to Tamuz Hidir, the Swedish representative of the World Federation of floorball. It would be better if the organizers of the tournament paid more attention to this important aspect, and to invited more qualified people to referee.

During the tournament our team also had three guest players: Volodar Ilyk, Bogdan Tiravsky and Roman Lozinski, who strengthened us both morally and physically. They helped us take our game to a higher level and get incomparable floorball experience. We will be happy to see them in our city!
