Everyone, at least once in their life, has dreamed of finding a treasure!  A Spanish Galleon at the bottom of the Carribean Sea, golden ducats, pearls, emeralds...  And imagine the adventures, the experiences, the unforgettable emotions that await someone who dares to try!  The romance...

In fact, the search for treasure is not anything like what we typically imagine.  Unfortunately, as sober reflection suggests, in order to undertake an expedition you would need to plough through a pile of books and maps, assemble a professional team, and, worst of all, find investors to sponsor the undertaking.  And people who invest money somehow think about romance least of all... Too bad...

But don't we have the right to dream of plunging into the world of adventure for just one evening?  The unanimous answer is: YES!

In this era of globalization and rapidly developing information technology, it is impossible to imagine a successful person who does not speak a foreign language - English, in particular.  Therefore, every teenager and student who wants to achieve success in life should be interested in learning this international language.  Of course, everyone knows that practice is the best way to learn.  That is, in order to master a language you need to speak, speak, and speak some more.  Now the question is, who can you find in Poltava to speak English with?

We all want to live in a civilized society.  We expect that the government will provide us with appropriate physical conditions.  We are upset by the mess that is being made in our country.  How many times have I heard unflattering exclamations about the government while standing in line or riding the bus.  I am a Ukrainian and still don't have a lot of life experience.  But my twenty plus years are more than sufficient time to have observed one national trait of our people.  We talk a lot, but don't do much!

During recent decades the relationship between man and nature has taken on a more dramatic character. Our beautiful planet, our only home, has been literally choking on the garbage that people leave behind.
 
In order to understand the causes behind the clogging of the planet, the SMS club held a meeting on May 31 in the Christian Ministry Center. This meeting took the form of a workshop. Each participant received a simple linen bag and had the opportunity to personally decorate it with special paints and stencils. The participants took the decorated bags with them as a reminder of the meeting. As a result there are now a number of bags in use in our city with the slogan "Plastic? No thanks!" This phrase was also the slogan of the activity, and promotes the idea of using bags made of environmentally friendly material, instead of plastic.

Children love holidays. Holidays last much longer for children than for adults. With age people are quickly absorbed by the bustle of everyday work; they begin holiday preparations long in advance, and end up too tired to enjoy the celebration. For children, in contrast to adults, a holiday can be arranged at any time. All you have to do is say "Guys, let's have a holiday!" - and the immediate answer will be: "All right!" And  children don't need much to have a celebration. Boys and girls are simply waiting for an adult to come along and pay attention to them. If the children know that we care about them, that we love them and are willing to spend time with them - that's already a holiday.

Holidays are usually a lot of fun, but they are pretty tiring, too. At times, during the holidays, people get more tired than they do during their everyday work. It seems as though the weariness from the Easter Holiday activities also affected the team responsible for SMS-Club. The most recent meeting can (without unnecessary exaggeration) be summed up with the short but descriptive title “Lapse”.

Finally, the moment came when our “small families” (home groups) became one big family. The Evening of Small Groups is what we called the meeting. This was the opportunity for each small group to introduce itself and share with the rest of the participants.

Why did we have this event?

One of the consequences of the fall of the Tower of Babel is that Poltavans need to work hard to comprehend the internationally recognized language of international communication. Knowledge of English in modern society is more a necessity than a hobby. If you can speak English, then you can share the feelings of billions of people, you have access to a wealth of information, you can enter a new culture. There is no need to belabor the advantages of fluency in another language; they are obvious and undeniable. But how to learn it?

Шлюб – болюча тема! Майже на кожному кроці безліч розлучень, розбитих сердець, байдужість у відносинах між чоловіком і дружиною. Через зради, пияцтво, бійки в сім’ях страждають діти. Що робити? Чи можна якимсь чином зарадити в цій ситуації?
Кожній, навіть смій прекрасній родині (чоловіку і дружині), потрібний Божий план подолання ізольованості один від одного для створення єдності. Розуміючи це, нещодавно в місті Полтава була проведена конференція для сімейних пар «Незабутній час удвох».
Дата проведення цього заходу була досить символічною, а саме день жіночності і краси – 8 Березня. Сподіваємося, що у багатьох представниць чарівної половини нашої планети, що провели святковий вечір разом з нами, залишаться незабутні і приємні враження, хоч в центрі уваги були не лише вони.

Our church is now five years old. Whether that is old or young is up to you to decide! We don't want to boast, because we honestly believe that we have no more than what God provided and blessed us with during this time. Every person who turned to him, every moment of worship in His presence, every moment of joy in fellowship and serving one another we owe to Him, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We thank God for support and guidance during difficult times, for mercy and forgiveness of our imperfections, for his correction, and for fun in the midst of hardship. May the next five years of our time on this earth, by God' will, be used for the expansion of His kingdom in the city of Poltava, and for blessing in the heart of every member of Salvation Church.
