And what are your standards? |
Winter weather has never hindered the emergence of warm and sincere love in human hearts. The problem is that societal trends and shifting public opinion have had a negative impact on the development of this beautiful feeling for many years. We have these attitudes imposed on us from childhood onward. Historically, the majority opinion is the norm. While in past years women were forbidden to be alone and unsupervised with unmarried men, today's youth see no problem with such a situation. This lack of understanding is due to different moral norms and standards being communicated through a variety of information sources. Today, nobody is surprised, nor even thinks to turn off the TV when he sees a portrayal of an intimate same-sex relationship. Tomorrow young people will consider this kind of relationship acceptable and natural. What is being imposed is not only the acceptance of a certain behavior, but also the aesthetic of beauty and the standard for judging appearance and style. We are the product of social moral progress, or rather regress. The only viable counterpoint to this trend are the unchanging and ever-relevant principles laid out in the Bible. This was the topic of discussion at the February SMS-club last Tuesday. The Christian youth at the meeting articulated an alternative to the "love" found in "Hollywood" propaganda, with its utopian idea of the relationship between a man and a woman. Instead, we affirmed the biblical model of the development of relationships that best protects the feelings and honor each person, and is most likely to result in a "HAPPY END". We hope to see you at future meetings of the club, which promise to be no less interesting and exciting. Tanya Varyanitsa |
