Holidays are usually a lot of fun, but they are pretty tiring, too. At times, during the holidays, people get more tired than they do during their everyday work. It seems as though the weariness from the Easter Holiday activities also affected the team responsible for SMS-Club. The most recent meeting can (without unnecessary exaggeration) be summed up with the short but descriptive title “Lapse”.

In the words of the Director/Producer:

“We were getting ready to feature a theatrical production showing the events between the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus. The difficulty was that the cast needed to memorize their lines in verse, so of course improvisation is not allowed. Unfortunately, because of the Easter events and the over-committed schedules of our actors, we did not have enough time for rehearsal. As a result, we had to reap the harvest of shame and bear the burden of a guilty conscience. Thankfully, the Lord foresaw the situation and sent few new non-believers our way. This was a life-lesson for us! We hope this sort of thing won’t happen again.” 

But not everything was as black as it seemed - the sermon of Regional Pastor Oleg Ivanovich Ovsiya with its power, simplicity and sincerity lifted our mood, softened the gloomy atmosphere and provided an interesting topic for our holiday meeting.

Conclusion: You must draw your strength from The Lord!

“Do you not know? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint” (Is. 40:28-31 NIV)
