This marks the conclusion of not only another good evening at the conversation club "On Air", but also of the first season of the club. We could never have imagined that the break for summer vacation would be such sad news for us. As we look back, we are even more energized to move ahead. The first season consisted of nine discussion evenings, made possible by God's leading and the dedication of the SMS Club team.

I expect that almost everyone has heard this story, some even know it by heart, and it has changed the lives of many.  It is the story of a man who lived about two thousand years ago. He died a horrible death to give hope to humanity. Yes, you probably guessed, His name is Jesus. Almighty God who became a mortal human to pay for the sin of all humanity. Why did the SMS Club pick this topic?

On April 20 of this year Christians all over the world celebrated the resurrection of Christ. The members of Salvation church also assembled for a service of celebration to commemorate one of the most important events in human history. In song and verse the worship team and the Sunday School students proclaimed the new hope for everyone that was made possible by the work of the Messiah.

"Why do you have to go to church?" ... That was the topic of the latest ON AIR. The young people got together for this on April 8, 2014. We were able to reflect on what the church is and why we should attend. Those two questions were the topic of our discussion. Furthermore, the participants were able to get answers to a series of other questions, specifically:

I'm in love!
Often we hear that being in love is one of the greatest feelings, though everyone is not ready for it. Sometimes these words sound like a condemnation. From childhood we have been told that we shouldn't fall in love, since no one has ever found a cure for love. That's why the SMS Club team decided to look at the topic of love as something you need to be saved from.

Sunday evening, March 23, turned out wonderfully for a team of guys from Salvation Church. At 4:30 a team of seven drove to the village of Chutovo for a ping-pong tournament. The goal of the tournament was to get better acquainted with the local youth and building friendships. Friendship is a good basis for sharing the Gospel with the people around us. The venue for the tournament was the Evangelical Christian Church of Chutovo, where Vyacheslav Klimov is the pastor.

Dear Brothers and Sisters, may the peace of God the Father and our Lord Jesus Christ be multiplied to you!

We are turning to you in this time that is difficult for all of us. We as Christians have been witnesses to and participants in important changes in the spiritual and social life of our country. Today Ukraine is going through a difficult phase in its development. This process is accompanied by many crises and changes in the life of our country.

 

The SMS Club continues its intensive work with the youth of Poltava. The purpose of the club is to change the world, and as globel as that may sound, the world around us has indeed changed a little. So, for your consideration we present another project that we call "ON AIR".

 

What can we do when we are troubled? Who can we go to, to pour out our hearts? The Lord is the only one who is ready to accept everyone; He Alone can take away our pain!

"Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” (Jesus Christ, from the Gospel of Matthew, chapter 11)
