What can we do when we are troubled? Who can we go to, to pour out our hearts? The Lord is the only one who is ready to accept everyone; He Alone can take away our pain!

"Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” (Jesus Christ, from the Gospel of Matthew, chapter 11)

 

There are times in our lives when we have nowhere to go for consolation and support, other than God. When those around us no longer have words of sympathy of support, the Lord extends a helping hand to everyone who is exhausted by worry about what tomorrow will bring, or whether tomorrow will come at all! Christians know this well and at this time are concerned for their fellow Ukrainians, offering them spiritual support in this time of trouble and worry. This is the second week of operation for the Spiritual Support Station set up by the Baptist churches of Poltava on Lenin Square. From Monday through Friday, starting at 10:00 in the morning and continuing through dusk the station is open to anyone who wants to converse about spiritual matters with our ministers or get answers to the questions that so often trouble our hearts and minds. Furthermore, anyone who wants can have a free copy of the New Testament in Russian or Ukrainian, or take a prayer card with a prayer for Ukraine, the Lord's Prayer and Psalm 90. Since February 24 more than 1,500 Poltavans have come to our Spiritual Support Station and received spiritual satisfaction.

This work will continue until the end of March. Everyone who is worried about our country, who wants to find out how to pray to God for our people, for Ukraine, for our city, everyone who would like to have a New Testament as a source of daily spiritual nourishment, is invited to come to the Spiritual Support Station from Monday through Friday from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. The station is in front of the pedestal that formerly held the statue of Lenin in Poltava.
