| Morning Prayer for Ukraine |

 "...if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land" 2nd Chronicles 7:14   These words, once spoken by God Himself to the Hebrew King Solomon, have become the central theme of thousands of Christians throughout Ukraine. More and more Christians of all denominations are joining together in prayer chains, prayer marathons and overnight prayer vigils. They are calling to the Heavenly Father for mercy on their people and that He might turn away the sword of division, war and bloodshed that has been hanging over the country and threatening to break loose with even more power. The wave of prayer finally washed into Poltava. Today is the day for the church to go out among the people and through prayer bring Ukrainians into reconciliation with God, who is the source of help and protection. Today is the day for every Ukrainian to lament their sins and call out for mercy, praying in the name of Jesus Christ, who was crucified for the sins of each of us and arose for the justification of those who receive their into their hearts as their personal Lord and Savior. Beginning from March 10, every morning at 6:45 in the central park of Poltava Christians of various denominations have been gathering to pause for 30 minutes and pray for Ukraine and their city before hurrying off to their daily business. The call to intercessory prayer is directed to everyone who is concerned for the future of their country. The number of those coming for prayer is growing every day and we hope that soon the entire area around the Monument of glory will be filled with praying people. The call to prayer is directed to everyone, even to those who have never in their lives prayed for Ukraine or don't even know how to pray at all - today is just the right time to start!
