On March 11, as usual after our Sunday worship service, I drove our van to L'gov-3 to pick up the Romani children. Every Sunday they come to Sunday School. On the way there is a sharp 90 degree turn where the traffic police sometimes are posted. As many times as I have traveled that way on Sundays I have never been stopped by them.

And now for my next Sunday trip. Not a person on the road ... I drove into L'gov-3 and started to collect children from the street and from the houses. To my surprise, there were more of them than usual. We all counted carefully - there were eighteen children and three adults. Praise God!

We started out for the church, driving slowly since the road was slippery. Heavy wet snow was falling, and the tread on the tires was well worn. So, we were on the road. We were no closer than 1,500 feet to the favorite spot of the police when the Lord spoke to my heart: "Stop". For some reason I knew clearly and immediately that the police were there. They were hiding around the turn and I couldn't see anything at all; there was no way out (at that point it was impossible to stop or turn around). All I was able to do was say "Lord help me!" and turned on the lights (in Russia we drive with lights on during the day). Of course I had forgotten to put on my seat belt, and there were four children crowded into the front seat - a serious breach of the law.

And so, we slowly approached... Two officers looked directly at us, both with their batons ready. I caught the eye of one of them. Surprisingly, they froze. Hard to say what the officers were thinking at that moment...

So, under the watchful eye of the traffic police, we slipped past without being stopped. The lack of any reaction, as far as I can see, was unnatural and suspicious. I could only think that in a second or two they would spring to life and pull us over. But no, we continued down the road and left them further and further behind.

Everyone of my team members in the car exclaimed at once, "Praise God!" We were so excited! When we reached the church we told everyone about this miracle and began to pray, thanking and praising God.

We also remembered the police officers in our prayers, blessing them in the name of Lord Jesus. The women started the activities with the children and I decided to do some errands in the car.

I got in the car, and I felt that I should go back and give the traffic officers Bibles to thank them. I went home, took two Bibles and returned to the place where the police were posted. The older of the two was sitting in the patrol car.

I opened the passenger door, said hello and said, "I just drove past you with a car-load of children and you didn't stop us!"

He smiled.

"You probably know me?" I asked.

"No!" he said.

"I am from the Baptist Church. Our chuch isn't far, and I bring the children to Sunday School every Sunday."

He became more interested and said, "Yes, I thought you were on your way to Sunday School."

(I found this truely unbelievable! He didn't know me, but understood that we were on our way to Sunday School!!! Friends! Only God could have revealed this to him! A miracle! Praise God!!!)

I continued - "Thank you very much! And as a thank you, I would like to give you these Bibles."

"That's not necessary, why?"

"Well, you see... God prompted me to give you these Bibles, and so I need to do it. How can I not obey God? So, here you go, from Him."

At this point he was so surprised that he couldn't answer or object. I laid the Bibles on the car seat and said, "They are for you and your partner, God bless you!" He thanked me repeatedly and I left.

Three hours later, as I taking the children back home, they were still standing there. They saw us and turned away, letting us pass by without stopping. Once again we all said "Praise God!"

And so God revealed Himself to us. The Romani clearly saw that Jesus is truely alive and that he is with us today. Praise, praise to our God who is from everlasting to everlasting, amen!
