“The Pure Pearl” was the name of the meeting we held for single and widowed women in the village of Zavorskla. Thirty women attended.

 

The festivities started with the game “The Battle Between Generations” that gave us a humorous look at how we can hear the same thing but understand it very differently. Humorous skits and touching songs opened hearts for deeper discussions. We talked with the women about different sayings that we often hear and use in everyday life. The participants had the chance to explain them in the light of situations in life or from personal experience. The discussion was lively and interesting. It was a revelation for most of the women that all of the sayings have the same source: the Bible! The common theme throughout the meeting was that on the foundation of God’s Word and much real-life experience - a woman can not do otherwise than serve those around her, and in this season of life in which God has placed her, she will need to give account. The song “The Pure Pearl” underscored the importance of our responsibility before God.

At the end of the program, before the group picture was taken, each of the women received a candy with the inscription “You are a pearl of great price in the hands of God”.

And in answer to the question of whether we should have another meeting like this in our village in the future, the answer was unanimously: “Let’s get together again in the spring before International Women’s Day!”

The Lord was praised again! Halleluja!
