Catching a Plane... |
The school year has passed like a flash. It seems like only yesterday we were planning the schedule of classes in Sunday school and the children were just starting to get used to sitting with their parents in the service after their lesson. It's over already and summer vacation is starting. In church we blessed the students and released them with admonishing words into their long-awaited vacation. But before they left they had a real holiday adventure - an imaginary journey by plane entitled "The Way of Salvation." The children took their flight very seriously: the imaginary seat-belts were all tightly fastened before departure … Unfortunately, or at the direction of God, the aircraft was forced to land on a mysterious island in the ocean. Flight attendant Inna Shapar tested the boys and girls on their knowledge and understanding of "the spiritual foundations of Christianity," and found they were prepared to face the unknown wilderness areas. Upon leaving the plane, the students suddenly found themselves face to face with a fierce aboriginal cannibal (brilliantly played Roma Choi). In fact, some of the children were really scared by the costumed actor. Still, in spite of the emotional shock, the Sunday school students gladly explained God's plan of salvation to the native. Using gestures, pictures and Bible verses they showed him how to tell his countrymen about the 4 steps of salvation. Satisfied that God's plan for the landing on the island had been successfully completed, the students reboarded the plane and took off into the sky. |
